What’s your favorite sketch book format/paper/binding etc. Do you have different sketch books for different situations (home/studio/travel etc.)?

I find A5 format (portrait) to be most practical both for studio and travel. At home I use different sizes depending on the mood 😀 Also, paper needs to be smooth as I’m using fountain. However, I still haven’t found my favourite sketchbook. What kind are you using?

    Hi linesdrawn!
I kind of settled on an A4, 100g, in rough grey cardboard binding by Kunst & Papier (Projektskizzenbuch). It just feels right to accompany me all day everywhere and the binding strip comes in your favorite color 🙂 For travelling or a sunday bike ride I prefer smaller formats and have a range of little books laying around. Somehow they keep on multiplying.

I totally know what you mean by multiplying sketchbooks 😀 I know the ones from Kunst & Papier! It’s nice, but paper they use is not the best for my needs (fountain pen). I use to use it when I was using graphite as main medium (for which is great!).

I’m still looking for the perfect sketchbook. I need acid free smooth (like bristol) ~100g paper in sketchbook format. Any suggestions?

I prefer landscape format than portrait in general for sketching and drawing… linesdrawn, moleskin has very thick, smooth paper, good for inks.
